Upcoming Technical Meeting of VISCA Project

Organised by the project coordinator METEOSIM (MET) and Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), VISCA project consortium will hold a technical meeting on 5th-6th April 2018 at BSC premises to discuss the progress of the project and its planned activities for the coming months especially the actions related to the integration of models into the platform.

The first day will be devoted to the presentation of WPs status and current risks for the design of proper contingency/mitigation plans. The WP leaders will inform about the first results obtained from meteorological and phenological models (MET, BSC, IRTA, NAP, UPORTO). The second day will be focused on tuning up the integration of the models into the platform and issues related to layers-mapping for a correct visualization. Finally, innovation management actions (ALPHA) and communication/dissemination activities (SEMIDE) will be presented and discussed.

VISCA partners are collaborating to provide a Climate Service (CS) and Decision Support System (DSS) that integrate climate, agricultural and end-users specifications in order to design medium- and long-term adaptation strategies to climate change. The project is validated by real demonstrations with end-users on three demo sites in Spain, Italy and Portugal (CODORNIU, MASTROBERARDINO, SYMINGTON).

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 730253.
